James L. Bosler

Chairman Emeritus

Mr. Bosler serves as the Chairman of JLB Partners. In this role, he provides overall direction and oversight and chairs the Investment Committee, which has the final say on all capital commitments. 

Mr. Bosler began developing residential real estate in 1964. After building single and multifamily projects for various family held partnerships, he formed his own company, JLB Construction, the predecessor to Fairfield Residential in 1979. Mr. Bosler ran the development company, construction company and eventually added a property management company in the mid 1980s. From 1979, until the expansion of the owner base of Fairfield in the late 1980s, Mr. Bosler developed over 13,000 units. 

In 1997, Mr. Bosler sold a portion of his operating interest in Fairfield to Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund II. After the sale, Mr. Bosler remained Chairman and President of the company. In 2005, California State Teacher's Retirement Service (CalSTRS), purchased a portion of his remaining shares, followed by Diamond Realty's (a subsidiary of Mitsubishi) purchase of the remainder of his interest in December 2006. 

During Mr. Bosler's tenure at Fairfield, he oversaw the development, construction, management, and disposition of over 75,000 apartment units. Further, he grew a small regional apartment company into one of the largest apartment development firms in the industry. Mr. Bosler resides in Ft. Worth, Texas and has been married for over 40 years. He has three daughters, four grandsons and three granddaughters. Bosler serves as the Chairman of JLB Partners. In this role, he provides overall direction and oversight and chairs the Investment Committee, which has the final say on all capital commitments.
